En 2018, Unreal Engine s'affirme comme le leader de l'architecture Temps-réelle

Durant le congrès annuel CGarchitect de 2018, les chiffres sont tombés. UE4 est le 4ième moteur de rendu toute catégories (incluant les offlines) avec une progression de 100% – Unity est 7ième. C’est le 1er (52%) pour ce qui est rendu temps-réel (Unity 4ième après Corona et Arnold). Dans le monde, 17% des étudiants se tournent vers UE4, contre 10% pour Unity.

    • 1 in 5 ArchVis people are using UE4 in production
    • 21% are using UE4, increase of 100% in one year

  • UE4 is #1 by those using real-time renderers in production:
    • 52% using UE4
    • #2 is Lumion (34%)
    • #3 is 3ds Max Interactive (21%)
    • #4 is Unity (19%)
  • UE4 is #1 for those researching real-time solutions:
    • 77% using UE4
    • #2 is Unity (20%) – UE4 is 4 times more popular
    • #3 is 3ds Max Interactive (16%)

Those researching UE4 are 69% likely to use in production in the future. Those using real-time want to use it for everything (presentations, design, fast rendering, XR) equally. Overall, 73% think real-time is important to very important, this increases to 88% in five years.
